Bethlehem, PA, Casino Finally Defeated!
Just as Northampton County Council has stopped a TIF tax exemption in Lower Nazareth Township, a judge has effectively stopped a slot machine gambling casino in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.
I will be elaborating in comments to this post.
My battle against the casino began January 3, 2005, when I brought the casino issue to the attention of Northampton County Council and urged its opposition, which council at a subsequent scheduled meeting did.

“Glass [Brent Glass, former director of Pennsylvania’s Historic and Museum Commission in Harrisburg] was rewarded for his collusion “with Pennsylvania Governor Ed Rendell, the PA legislature, Northamton county, the City of Easton, the City of Bethlehem, BethWorks Now [which includes the law firms of Florio, Perrucci, Steinhardt, and Fader and Fischbein, Badillo, Wagner, and Harding], the New York real estate firm of Newmark & Co., vulture investor Wilbur L. Ross [owner of International Steel Group (ISG [which bought the former Bethlehem Steel Corporation] and East Hampton neighbor of Richard Fischbein, vulture investor Lakshmi Mittal [who bought the 1800-acre tract from Ross], the worlds third richest man after Bill Gates and Warren Buffett, an Indian national who lives with his family in a palace in London, Starters Pub, etc., etc., ad nauseum.”
Glass’s reward was a promotion to the directorship of the National Museum of Industrial History in Washington D.C.
