The Unabated Political Corruption in Pennsylvania, Northampton County, and the County’s Seat Easton
Refer please to article, “FEMA hopes to cut river flooding,” published in today’s edition of The Morning Call.
“The Federal Emegency Management Agency has decided to investigage what caused the recent flooding along the Delaware River, as well as ways to prevent future floods, the article reports.
“The inquiry, which will also look at the Susquehanna River, will consider what - if any - role New York City’s reservoirs played [in] this summer’s flooding, whether flood plains are identified correctly, and whether flood maps are up to date [italics added].”
Meanwhile, a solipsistic City of Easton, Easton Redevelopment Authority, Easton Planning Commission, and quasi-judicial Easton Zoning Hearing Board under the corrupt chairmanship of James Edinger who’s also chair of the Easton Democratic Party Committee persist in reviewing and approving major real estate development and redevelopment projects in Easton’s Delaware and Lehigh rivers and Bushkill Creek floodplains.
Just last night, the Easton Planning Commission gave preliminary approval to Ashley Development’s proposed nine-story condominium project on South Third Street in the Lehigh River floodplain.
Also, yesterday Pennsylania’s Department of Environmental Protection Secretary Kathleen McGinty was in Easton representing Governor Ed Renell’s continuing support of the Bushkill Creek Corridor development/redevelopment in the Bushkill Creek floodplain.
Rendell, in “public-private partnership” with the City of Easton, Northampton County, and Lafayette College has already committed $9 million toward this boondoggle, taxpayer dollars the Billy Bytes publications demand be returned to the state’s taxpayers.
Billy Bytes also demands that Northampton County’s “gift” of $200,000 from the fraudulent 2001 $111 million bond issue toward the Bushkill Creek Corridor project also be returned to the county’s taxpayers.
