The Continuing Rising Tide of Northampton County Corruption

Please refer to article, “War over park’s fate a lengthy history of battles,” published in today’s edition of The Express-Times.

Reporter Courtney Lomax quotes former Nazareth Councilman and Mayor Elmer Yeakle as saying of the park’s deed restriction, “It’s [the deed restriction] is not there illegally.  It was approved to be there by the people who controlled the deed.”

This is the argument that Billy Bytes publications’ founder Easton, PA, College Hill resident Billy Givens has made since Lafayette College President-Emeritus Arthur J. Rothkopf conspired with the Forks Township supervisory board, the Lehigh Valley International Airport Authority (LVIAA) board of governors including state senator Lisa Boscola, PA Governor Tom Ridge, and the PA Bureau of Aviation, to keep former Braden Field (rechristened Braden Airpark) open and operating by Moser Aviation.

Rothkopf, a transporation expert whose resignation from the LVIAA Givens forced because of a conflict of interest, and the Lafayette College board of trustees under its chairman Charles Hugel and college administration, continue to ignore deed restrictions on college-owned property that it leased to the adjacent airport.

This Lafayette College did for the express purpose of keeping the unsafe facility open and operating and for use as a magnet for attracting Congressionally appropriated funding for the facilities expansion.

That expansion now includes an Army National Guard Stryker force built on the former Fancy Furrows Farm owned by Forks Township Supervisory Board Chairman John Ackerman who sold the farm, literally, and shrouded in secrecy to the U.S. Army - just as the Paul Braden family of Forks Township sold their tiny airport to the LVIAA for “economic expansion.”

Braden Airpark is now a powerful magnet, attracting Congressionally appropriated transportation dollard, by these corrupt local officials and 15th Congressional District Representative Charlie Dent - a member of the House Homeland Security Committee, a powerful position that he useds to secure HSD dollars for Braden Airpark’s continuing expansion.

Dent has also introduced to Congress with colleague California Republican Richard Pombo a bill that would deny the Delaware Indian Tribe of Oklahoma its Constitutional right to regain 315 acres of Forks Township property stolen from these aboriginal people by William Penn’s son Thomas through trickery, fraud, and forged deeds in the notorious Walking Purchase grand larceny of 1737.
