Toomey, the Flea on Bush's Wagging Tail
- Nancy Marshall -

10/29/2002

Only 7 days remain before November 5 to stop Bush II's Iraqi war. Next Tuesday cast your vote against Pennsylvania's 15th Congressional District Somnambulent, Pat Toomey. Toomey lies Gaga on the Isle of the Lotus Eaters, oblivious to the raging war here at home waged by corporate thugs like Bush II's "Kenny Boy" Lay, the criminal CEO of Enron. Next Tuesday simplify, enter your polling booth and pull the one big Democratic Lever. Make it your last-in-a-lifetime opportunity to rebuke Toomey, Wag Bush II's Tail, and salvage America's democracy.

Bush II, acting out Montezuma's Revenge on Iraq, was comfortably constipated in his anal-retentiveness toward the saber-rattling (which Bush II recognizes and respects) of North Korea's Kim Il Sung, finger on the bomb, one hell of a weapon of Mass Destruction, and an intercontinental missile capable of delivering it. Saddam has only a SCUD, incapable of reaching America's shores. And even if it had the capability, it wouldn't have a nuclear bomb to deliver.

Bush II says Iraq has posed an imminent threat to America's national security since the 1991 Desert Storm I, and Bush I. North Korea has posed a far more ominous threat to America's security, and to that of its allies like Japan and Taiwan, since long before 1991, when the aggressor state first achieved nuclear capability - a capability that Iraq does not yet possess.

Bush II doesn't like the U.N., any more than Henry Cabot Lodge liked Woodrow Wilson's concept of a League of Nations. Bush II especially abhors the U.N.'s sanctions, unenforced, against Israel, amplified by his appeasement of America's Jewish voters for his and Pat Buchanan's stiff-arming them down in Florida's Palm Beach County in the Presidential Selection of 2000.

Bush II, an oedipally-challenged Hamlet figure, is driven to avenge his father, Bush I, who had the lustre of his Desert Storm victory tarnished by his irresolute failure to knock off Saddam Hussein when the opportunity first presented itself, a full decade ago.

That Hamlet-like inability of the father to act has spawned a son who like Macbeth rushes head-long toward war with Iraq, egged on by Condoleezza "Gertrude" Rice, and their doomed policy of "Unilateral Pre-emptiveness."

Do yourself and democracy a favor. Go to your polling place next Tuesday, November 5, 2002. Simply pull the one big Democratic Lever, closing the curtain on Bush II and the 107th Congress behind you.
